Local move pricing depends on the size of your home, the number of items being moved, the distance between properties, any packing services needed, and whether stairs or long carries are involved. We provide a free written estimate based on your specific situation so you know the cost before committing.

What Local Moving Actually Involves
A local move might seem straightforward, but the details matter more than most people expect. Doorways, stairwells, hallways, and parking access all affect how a move is planned and executed. Furniture that fits in a room does not always fit through the door the same way it came in. Floors, walls, and door frames need protection throughout the process. Timing has to account for elevator reservations, HOA move-in windows, and building access restrictions.
We assess all of these factors before moving day. Every estimate includes a review of your current and destination properties so the right equipment and crew size arrives for the job. We do not send a two-person team to a four-bedroom home and figure it out on arrival.
A local move with Lifetime Moving & Storage starts with a free written estimate based on your actual inventory and situation. What you are quoted reflects the real cost of your move. We do not add fuel surcharges, stair fees, or last-minute charges that were not discussed in advance.
Moving You Can Actually Rely On
Local moves make up the core of what we do, and we take that seriously. Our crews are trained to work efficiently without cutting corners on care. Every piece of furniture is wrapped and protected before it moves through the home. Floors and walls are covered where needed. Items are placed where you want them, not just unloaded and stacked in a corner.
We are a family-owned company, and that changes how we operate. The people running this business are personally accountable for your experience. We do not subcontract your move to outside crews or send whoever happens to be available that day. You get a trained, consistent team that knows what they are doing and takes the job seriously.
Up to 60 days of free storage is included with every move. If your timeline shifts, your belongings are covered.

How We Handle Your Local Move
We plan every local move in advance so moving day runs the way it should. The work begins before the truck arrives and continues until everything is placed and accounted for at your destination.
Our estimators assess your inventory, identify any items that require specialty handling, and confirm access conditions at both properties. If there are HOA restrictions, elevator booking requirements, or parking limitations, we account for those before scheduling the crew and equipment.
Before Moving Day
Once your estimate is confirmed, we send a crew brief covering your property details, access requirements, specialty items, and timeline. Every member of your moving team reviews it before arriving. Materials including moving blankets, floor runners, door frame protectors, and shrink wrap are loaded and ready.
If you have opted for packing services, our packing team arrives the day before or the morning of your move to prepare your belongings properly. Every box is labeled by room and contents, and fragile items receive appropriate cushioning and protection before anything is loaded.
On Moving Day
The crew arrives within your scheduled window, walks through your home to confirm the plan, and begins loading systematically. Heavy and bulky items go first. Fragile items are loaded last and secured. Nothing is placed in the truck without being properly wrapped and protected.
At your destination, we unload in reverse order, place furniture where you want it, and reassemble anything that was broken down for transport. We do a final walkthrough with you before the crew wraps up to confirm everything is in order and nothing has been missed.
