Moving Protection & Valuation Coverage
All Lifetime Moving & Storage moves include basic valuation protection as required by law. Coverage differs based on whether your move is local or interstate.
Local Moves (Arizona Intrastate Moves)
For local moves performed directly by Lifetime Moving & Storage, basic valuation coverage is provided at:
$0.30 per pound per item
This represents the federally regulated minimum liability standard within the moving industry and is not full-value insurance or comprehensive protection. In the event of a claim, reimbursement is calculated based on:
Item weight × $0.30 per pound
Interstate Moves (Long-Distance Moves via Bekins Van Lines)
For all interstate (long-distance) moves, valuation coverage is provided through our national carrier partner, Bekins Van Lines, under their federally regulated valuation protection program.

All interstate shipments are handled under Bekins Van Lines’ carrier authority, licensing, and valuation terms, in compliance with federal interstate moving regulations.
Important Note on Valuation Coverage
Basic valuation coverage—whether through Lifetime Moving & Storage (local moves) or Bekins Van Lines (interstate moves)—represents the minimum level of protection required by law and is not equivalent to full-value protection or moving insurance.
Reimbursement under basic valuation is determined by:
- Declared valuation method × weight of item
- Recommended Full-Value Protection
For additional protection beyond standard valuation coverage, we strongly recommend purchasing full-value moving insurance through a third-party provider.
